Introduction:

The Government of Pakistan, through the National Highway Authority Jobs (NHA), is seeking qualified individuals for a consulting position to enhance the social development aspects of the Environmental & Social (E&S) capabilities of the NHA’s Project Implementation Unit (PIU). This initiative is part of a broader project aimed at the reconstruction of National Highway N-5 under Pakistan’s Resilient Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Framework. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) for the selection of an International Social Development Consultant. The consultant will provide expert guidance on E&S assessments and ensure that the project complies with international standards set by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

Available Positions with Qualifications

The position available is for an International Social Development Consultant (Individual). The consultant will play a key role in guiding the PIU and its associated team (NESPAK) in carrying out the social development aspects of E&S assessments and studies related to the proposed reconstruction of National Highway N-5.

Educational Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in social development or a related field.
Professional Experience:
- Experience with similar projects in Pakistan is preferred.
- Experience working on Category A projects (projects with significant, irreversible, or unprecedented environmental and social impacts as defined by the AIIB’s Environmental and Social Framework).
Specific Skills:
- Experience with projects financed by Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) is highly desirable.

The selected consultant will help ensure that the project complies with national and local laws, AIIB’s environmental and social standards, and other international best practices.
